"Gourmet Burger" Bar

For Joey's 9th Birthday extravaganza she only really wanted two things. 1. For it to be glamorous and all about her. 2. To have the DIY "burgers" we saw one sick day at home on Live! with Kelly and Michael. (click the link to watch the video for more adorable ideas!) It was easy to do, inexpensive, and unique. While most adults did not want to eat them, it was fun to make them regardless!

Joey's 9th Red Carpet Birthday

We celebrated my oldest's birthday earlier in August. She came up with the theme for "red carpet." She always has the idea, then let's me run with it (which I adore about her, plus she is so cute). Her Auntie took her for a makeover before hand and she looked the part as she came up the red carpet! Which by the way, is just red plastic table cloth duct taped to the sidewalk.

Her website coming soon at Seymour of Life Photography.

Sunday sweets

We made caramel apples and pumpkin bags full of cheese balls to deliver to our favorite neighbors today. The dollar store made this little project super affordable! We took a pause at halftime of the game to deliver them!

Mini surprise party

This past weekend we threw a mini surprise party for one of besties! We all went out to dinner first then we snuck back and decorated her hotel room in about 15 minutes before she came in! It was a perfect something extra to the b-day celebration. A few balloons and zebra print streamers went a long way! I made cupcake toppers out of all her favorite singers/bands and incorporated songs lyrics for birthday wishes! Definitely original and tons of fun!

pony party

I clearly need to work on my picture taking skills- this party was so adorable and these pictures do not do it justice at all. So disappointing! This brown and pink themed pony party was for my youngest Charlie's 3rd birthday party. The pony clip art was a download from Collective Creation store on Etsy. You can see the invites here.

Party favors were pony hoodies! DIY coming soon.

Monster eye cupcakes

Perfect for Halloween! Halfway homemade because I just can never get made from scratch cupcakes to taste as good as a box of mix- I have never claimed to be a baker! Decorator- definitely!
Two tricks. 1. Smooth the Oreo frosting with a warm knife. 2. Use long toothpicks to stabilize the eyes- I learned this one the hard way!

First quilt!

For some crazy reason I decided to make a quilt for my lovely sister in law's newest addition to the fam! I was a woman obsessed and finished it in a couple days. Picking the fabric was my favorite, wrestling the thick batting through the sewing machine my least! I even added a little embroidered 'q' at the end. I will definitely be making more. I read Elise's posts here for guidance.

Baby shower invites

Love how these turned out! I sketched the fix by hand then scanned it into my computer and colored it digitally. He turned out perfect!

Pony party

The big week of Charlie's 3rd birthday party is here! Here is a peek of the invites. Pony clip art is from etsy and will be all over the party decor! The back of the invites is pink Swiss dot cardstock, I just love the texture!

OLD (fashioned) BIRTHDAY PARTY

I just came across these pictures from last summer! We threw a mini party for my sister in law's 30th. I thought it would be fun to play on the OLD part as the focus and make "fashion" a bit understated. (she thought it was funny) I made  herringbone bow ties from ribbon and elastic. We had spectacles and mustaches on sticks. I used hard caramel candies on the table to add a touch of gold to the black and white theme. The adults enjoyed classic drinks like mint juleps and whisky sours. Super fun!

Peeps wreath

This turned out so adorable. We used toothpicks and the bottom ones fell out at first but after they dried up a bit they have stayed put!
