halloween = love

we heart it

i adore halloween! and whats better than it being on a weekend. i am super excited because we recently moved to a sweet little culdesac that is apparently the bomb trick-or-treat neighborhood. our old neighborhood was dark, and pretty unfriendly so we got less than a dozen kids. i learned last night our friends bought 12 bags of candy last year and ran out! 12 bags!

i have been working on joey's "vampire fairy" costume here and there. i broke out my new sewing machine (gifted by a crafty goddess, thank you shim you are awesome!) and love it! tonight it gets put to use making the red and black cape. i will post pictures because it is sure to be an interesting costume.

my mom worked her crafty magic last night to turn a plain baby monkey costume into pure awesome-ness. can't wait to put it on charlie! i was just going to add a pink bow, but mom's accessories are WAY better! yes- that is wings and a tiny fez so she can be a wizard of oz flying monkey!

reason to revel friday: puppy party part 1

i had just a few more pictures i wanted to share. i made a banner with american craft thickers and lost a few of them in transport. matt helped me find them all but apparently we didn't get the 'j' on there very well. so "happy birthday oey" it is. i am SUPEr inspired by all the lovely posts of amy atlas, and while my little 2 dessert table pales in comparison to anything on her blog i thought it was perfect for my daughter's 5th birthday party.

reason to revel friday: puppy party

we had a puppy themed party for our daughter's 5th birthday last night. it was tons of fun to put together. i have so many cute pictures i will have to do 2 posts! all the kids had puppy ears, and i put a pink bow on joey's so she would be extra special. my lovely mom baked all the cupcakes so i just had to decorate. joey cut out bones from fondant for the tops. i made some messy but very tasty sugar cookies decorated like tennis balls, and we filled dog bowls with snacks!

i love my new polka dot packaging (tags, ribbon and biz cards). i hope to revise the web design to coordinate. these were my flourish invites with custom map insert for a lovely june bride. i have so many ideas and want to list compelete wedding sets in my store. i just need to find the time for a photo shoot. but, this hungry hungry hippo is always occupying my time. i don't mind so much-she is so snuggly!

gone too long

time has certaintly gotten away from me. life has been full and crazy lately and kept me away from my little biz and blog. i'm sure not too many people check in here, but soon i hope to change that.

things that kept me away include being very very pregnant with baby girl #2. she is still nameless, which is scary because she should be here anytime, a very beautiful and fun 4 1/2 year old adjusting to life as a big girl (preschool graduation and her first dance recital), and the big one a new house. moving was quite the adventure, and we have the best parents in the world (all 3 sets) because it would not have happened with out them!

we've been there for one month now, and it feels a little like home now. baby has a room of her own that is ready to go. not being able to nest was really challenging, but i feel much better now that she has somewhere to lay her head.

just when things seem to be settling down and feeling warm and safe i had to say good bye to one my bestest friends ever. I will miss your sweet face little minnie!

celebrating today with the best coffee around! we usually only get this on our trek up north to visit grandma in the great cheese state, but had to drive to shawnee mission parkway today where they happen to have a lovely little drive thru! so yummy.
