festive drink table

a bit late but here is the drink table I made for new year's eve. i poured our pinterest other websites and found so much inspiration for NYE themed parties. this is my own color scheme due to left over christmas wrapping ribbon and paper and was so much fun to put together.

I purchased noise makers from the dollar store and removed the multicolor fringe and glued on my own in matching patterned and solid scrapbooking papers!

bee mine...

The picture is terrible, but joey's handmade valentines came out so adorable. The other side of the heart has hand painted and drawn designs by her. we made bees out of pipe cleaners and googly eyes. Super easy project "bee mine" from Family Fun magazine. Instead of tissue paper wings we used the bump chennile pipe cleaner cut in half then just add it in as you wind around the striped body part!

Christmas Cake Pops

So I spend too much time on pinterest and saw all the lovely cake pops by bakerella (the very creator of the adorable pops). I thought I would give them a try at our annual cookie making day at my lovely mother-in-law's house with my lovely grandma and sister-in-law. I fell in love with the adorable reindeer with pretzel ears and the snowman with oreo cookie hat. I am still in love with bakerella's version, not so impressed with what I made. They did taste amazing. I followed the basic recipe from foodcomma's Emma.  I am sure that practice makes perfect with these little guys but I found that I couldn't make them stay on the sticks (that's why mine are upside down). Mine are red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting and cocoa candy melts for the coating.
Cake Pops=1 Amanda =0
Technically Cake Pops=2 Amanda =0 because I never even tried a snowman

girlie turquoise and pink party

For my daughter's 6th birthday she wanted hello kitty everything. I love hello kitty but hate commercialized parties. I can't stop myself from wanting to take creative liberties with everything. I used hello kitty stickers and stuck to filling the favors with hello kitty pencils and toys, and stuck to a color theme. I used zebra print and polka dots in the same turquoise and bright pink throughout. It was so colorful and fun. Joey loved it.

Birthday Girl!

Happy 1st Birthday Charlie!

Today is the official day. Hard to believe it has already been a year! We had her party on the 12th, and she decided that was the day she wanted to really start walking!

circus dessert table

Dessert tables are like the holy grail to me, no matter how much planning I look at them and know I can do better. There is just a something that makes me say "darn it." Overall I am excited to show these pictures. I adore the circus theme, and had so much fun planning it. Next time I will pick a location that is better for pictures, it was too narrow here for me to get a good pictures, and I will make time to iron my linens (rookie mistake!)
